SONO – Minimalist Built-in Bioethanol Fireplace | Planika
SONO is a fully glazed bioethanol fireplace designed to be integrated into wall structures. Three flame display variants – three-sided, left corner, and right corner – allow it to be easily incorporated into modern residential environments, apartments, lounge areas, and commercial spaces. The neutral and minimalist design adapts perfectly to any contemporary finishing material.
The fireplace operates using patented BEV® (Burning Ethanol Vapours) technology: the flame is generated solely by the combustion of bioethanol vapours, without direct contact with the liquid fuel. The process is fully automated and electronically controlled. It produces no smoke, soot, or other toxic byproducts. Unlike most Planika fireplaces, SONO requires connection to a concentric flue system (not included), which allows combustion air to be drawn in from outside and some heat to be expelled outwards, maintaining a comfortable and stable indoor climate. This aspect is particularly important in high-energy efficiency homes, air-conditioned apartments, or small rooms with controlled thermal conditions.
The entire structure is enclosed in tempered glass, which stabilizes the flame even in open environments and acts as a protective element, separating the fire from users. The BEV® burner features a special arrangement of ceramic logs, layered and at different angles, creating the effect of a deep burning fire, with variable height and a natural rhythm – much more similar to a real fireplace than traditional linear models.
SONO is available in three versions: Three-Sided (fire visible on three sides), Left Corner (fire visible from the front and left), and Right Corner (fire visible from the front and right). The fireplace can be controlled via a mobile app, remote control, external control panel with LCD screen, or Smart Home systems. All functions – ignition, shutdown, flame intensity adjustment, and fuel level monitoring – are available remotely. Bioethanol refilling occurs without the need for interventions on the building. Delivery time is 10 days; the product is delivered on a pallet.
